Spiekeroog 2026

I am working on a series of paintings from the island of Spiekeroog in north Germany for an exhibition there in September 2026. If you have not heard of Spiekeroog it is one of a series of islands to which you can only access by foot or bicycle from the mainland. It had wild broad white sandy beaches and sand dunes. Visitors stay in a small village on the island which has a number of lovely restaurants and bars, a spa, horse riding and many other tasteful activities. One of the main attractions is the horse drawn train which used to deliver visitors luggage to their accommodation from the port. It now just provides rides to the west of the island.
